DAIGLE FAMILY PORTRAIT
© Sharon L Hicks, 2012
Coloured Pencil, 14" x 17"
This portrait represents 20 members of an extended family, with the parents/grandparents surrounded by three generations of their descendants. With the family members being widespread geographically, they all sent me photos to work from, so it was a challenging project. And I DO love a challenge :)
I've been told that when it was presented to the matriarch of the family, for her 70th birthday, she was speechless and her tears experessed her appreciation. I was very happy to hear that.

HEADS OR TAILS
Coloured Pencil
7" x 10"
This pair of equine pals I found pastured out on the Tantramar Marsh, enjoying the early morning stillness. The day was already bright and promised to be a scorcher, and these guys seemed to already understand it was going to be a day to just take it easy.
The painting was eventually donated to a worthy cause, but prints and notecards of this painting are still available at the Craft Gallery in Sackville NB, or directly from the artist.
